Our Mission

Nature Vision is a non-profit organization (501c3) formed in 2003.  Our mission is to foster appreciation and stewardship of our environment through integration of school, community, and nature education.

Through partnerships created with governmental agencies, school districts, and other organizations, we promote thoughtful decision making for a sustainable future.

We manage and present a wide range of school programs about natural and cultural resources to school-age students, families, and adult groups.  Our naturalist staff offers expertise in a variety of topics from ecology to education.

Nature Vision serves over 50,000 students and members of the public each year.

Our Main Programs Include:

Nature in the Classroom:  Nature Vision offers 1 hour hands-on, minds-on programs in classrooms or other indoor venues focusing on cycles, ecosystems, interdependence, biodiversity, and more.

Habitat Connections: These 2 part programs are offered to students and community groups in the classroom and outdoors, and focus on habitat connections including: Steam, Wetland, Forest, Puget Sound, and Aquifer connections.

Blue Teams:  K-12 Students in King county become a “Blue Team,” with Nature Vision by completing a water related stewardship project in their community, such as stream restoration, planting rain gardens, collecting data from a local water body and presenting their findings in the community, etc.

Outdoor Discovery Days and Science Fairs:  We offer specialty programs for schools and community groups who would like an outdoor day  incorporating several integrated programs, or a specialist to present at  their science fair.

Public Programs and Scout Programs:

Nature Vision offers one hour discovery programs for the public, as well as scouting programs in partnership with the City of Redmond Parks and City of Bellevue.

Day Camps:

Nature Vision has special programs available for day camps year round.  We also are offering our own day camps in partnership with the City of Redmond at Farrel-McWhirter Park.
